Bio: Sir Florence appears briefly in Malory, along with his brother Lovel; they are Gawain's sons, killed by Lancelot when the latter is caught with Guenever. For Britannia's purposes, Florence was the oldest, being a little over twenty when he died. His mother was Ragnelle, the erstwhile Loathly Lady, whose wit and patience he inherited, if not her beauty. A personable and competent young man, his short life was nonetheless plagued by insecurity; yours would be too, if your father was arguably the Best Knight Ever (French imports aside).
Florence Mary Knight was born in 1935. The youngest child of three, she perplexed her parents somewhat, being both hopelessly fanciful -- mad on fairy tales -- and intensely responsible. At twenty she married Joseph Sanford and moved with him to the then-tiny town of Britannia, where they opened a modestly successful restaurant and raised two children. Now a widow in her seventies, Florence lives alone with her dog, Lady Jane, and visits from her grandchildren are frequent. She knows nearly everyone in town, at least by sight, and a good many of them know her.
What they don't know, of course, is what she's known since she read Le Morte D'Arthur at seventeen.
Personality: Florence is cheerful, industrious, loyal, affectionate, and an excellent listener. She has also had the benefit of a full and productive life, and consequently is not nearly as shy and self-doubting as the boy she once was. She is entirely conscious of, andat peace with, her unlikely past life.
